The chameleon of rock music has yet another best of collection. I know what you are thinking ... were do you draw the line? Well, I must say for only one CD of songs this collection does a nice job of capturing the highlights of David Bowie's career thus far. If this is not enough for you, there is a two-disc set available, and all tolled there some 16 different versions available worldwide of this collection to satisfy each territory's distinctive tastes. Do you think it sounds ludicrous that there could be that many versions of one album? I did. Well, primarily you must consider the popularity of Bowie and the vociferous collectors that will be more than happy to seek out every single version of Best Of Bowie. That kind of approach is necessary to satisfy his worldwide fan base. There has not been an all-encompassing collection available until now, and one that so succinctly focuses on this man's career.

The eye-catching cover manages to combine the many faces and facets of this legendary performer into one cover, which is not an easy undertaking. I have heard all of these songs repeatedly and I can honestly say I never tire of them. This kind of collection shows off the variety and talent that Bowie has offered us over the last three decades. I cannot think of any other artist that has reinvented himself so many times and with such tremendous success as David has. He is a very unusual artist and a rock treasure all wrapped into one complete package. The bottom line is ... best of packages do not get any better than this. Even if you have everything he has ever done you will want this CD!
