Aaron EnglishHere it is, another release from Progrock Records. But this one isn’t a progressive rock album, rather it’s in the world music genre. In fact Aaron English is , perhaps, the only artist who doesn’t play prog among the Progrock label roster.

Helped by many musicians, Aaron English immediately shows what schemes he will follow: great importance for the melodies, frequent basis of percussion and the use of the piano as the main instrument. He has also a warm and particular voice, although sometimes it reminded me of Peter Gabriel’s, as did the music from time to time.

It is clear that the entire work is influenced by Gabriel‘s music, but there isn’t so much programming on it or any kind of computer, like the English singer puts on his records every time.

So we don’t have to think that we are in presence of a new clone, but of a new interesting American reality.

I suggest to every fan of world music that you check this album out. Recommended.
