	Reviewed by: Marcel Haster, October 2003 It seems the U.S. based label ProgRock Records is cloning some of the best progressive rock vocalists of the 80s, for future generations. In Jack Yello, we found an almost perfect clone of Fish, and now this excellent label brings us Aaron English ... a singer / songwriter / producer / engineer whose voice does not sound like Peter Gabriel but his entire style of music does! All The Waters Of This World is English's debut album and is inspired by the sea, as Aaron English was born and raised near the ocean. In his own studio he has been working on the album supported not just by a four piece band but also by thirteen musicians from all over the world, giving the album a "world-beat" touch, something we also know from Peter Gabriel. The eleven songs on the album are each marked by beauty, emotion and tranquillity. These songs feel like pure silk to your ears! Aaron English takes the lead vocals and keyboards but most of the time he uses the piano. I particularly love the violin on the album, like in "Mandeleine," where it just gives the song a finishing touch. It is not easy to describe the music on the album as each song is so intricate and has so many facets. I could write an entire review on each song, but then I would not have enough space here! You'd best discover the details yourself. The tone of the album is almost sober, modest, but delightful to listen to. Some of the instruments used on the album are unknown to me, like the Mbira, Bouzouki or Hurdy-gurdy. But tracks like "Ghost Is Broken" and "Flower Of Lebanon" let you hear the effect of these instruments, as if a far away culture enters your home and through your speakers. And yet not being intrusive, but it tickles your senses in a gentle way. All The Waters Of This World can be described in only one word: beautiful! And you just have to get this album and listen to it to understand why it is beautiful, as I find it hard to put the feelings I get into words, to describe to you what a fantastic album this is. So, listen to it yourselves and be surprised. Although it will not directly appeal to prog-metal fans this album will find its way to many music lovers, not just among progressive rock fans. Of course this album is not just a Peter Gabriel clone, although it has many similarities, but it is a stunning debut album by a very gifted singer/songwriter. I think we will hear more of him in the future and therefore we should support him now, so get this album and enjoy it.
