Whilst Unspoken Whisper marks the band's debut, most of the songs have already been known for a long time, courtesy of the many demos the band mailed out over the years. However, this time around the vocals of Siebe-Rein Schaaf is of a much better, more professional quality, doing the rest of the music justice. So a lot of "older" material creeps up on this disc, songs which luckily have been revamped in order to get the balance right so every detail can be heard over and over again. Classics for the future can be found in "Schoolyard Fantasy," "Unspoken Whisper" (sounding a lot like vintage Genesis in the intro) and "Legend Of The Old Man's Tree." The material sounds much better on CD than in demo form, which kind of illustrates the fact that no arrangement is going over the top. Edo Spanninga's keyboards often sound divine, whilst the guitar of André Cents doesn't have to battle to get in the spotlight. Lovers of lyrical symphonic rock in the style of Camel will certainly enjoy Unspoken Whisper, an album which has become a perfect calling-card for the band no doubt resulting in a massive amount of gigs. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this album opened the door to recognition from abroad as well. A superb album made with a very tiny budget proving once again that a great album doesn't necessarily mean you have to pay a fortune in studiotime. All you need are good songs and you can find seven on this debut!
