Reviewed by: John "Bo Bo" Bollenberg, November 2002 Typical George Harrison. That's the least you can say after hearing the precursor to George's posthumous album Brainwashed, to be released on November 18. Listening to the drums it holds all of the Jeff Lynne trademarks to such an extent that, should you erase vocals and guitars, you'd come up with a backing track for an ELO song. Heavily featuring slide and dobro, "Stuck Inside A Cloud" is the typical kind of Harrison song that contains the same atmosphere as a Tom Petty song or a Travelling Wilburys composition. It's the kind of song even someone like Bob Dylan could have a go at, although maybe it's a little too much on the "light" side. The piano in the background gets close to the "Hotel California" feel thus slightly introducing some country elements on top of the acoustic nature of the song. Surely this is prime-time radio material and a fine example of the talents of the late Beatle. If the other eleven songs on the soon to be released new album will be of the same quality then no doubt were in for a real treat!
