City Weezle's eponymous EP is an exercise in musical schizophrenia ? blending funk, rock, and a jam-band ethos with a humorous lyrical viewpoint into a unique sound?

Analysis:

City Weezle have blended their influences into a surprisingly cohesive sound. The musicianship is excellent, and the songs are well crafted ? no surprises in structure or form to be found, but the acerbic lyrics ("Vampire Boy" in particular stands out) and the combination of soulfully gritty clean vocals with deathly rasps adds a snidely humorous touch to City Weezle.

The instrumentation and sound from song to song is almost identical, resulting in a one dimensional sound ? for a demo though the production is quite clean and professional.

3.5-/5 (the minus is for the brevity of the disc? 4 songs are too few to adequately review?)

Summary:

City Weezle are capable musicians, and if they add to their palette of sounds and continue to deliver blackly humorous lyrics, they will find a niche for themselves?
