Wuthering Heights is a workhorse, and sometimes you just need a band that can get the job done. They rob and pillage from a wide variety of styles while utilizing provisions from the practical metallic pool of resources.

The consortium they consult contains the intellectual properties of Ayreon, Iced Earth, Nightwish, and Opeth. Then again, they are pretty industrious to incorporate all these rivets and influents into one self-contained structure.

Sometimes they graft fast. Most of the time, they play hard and heavy. Altogether, every song has a similar mass-produced texture. For me, the widgets in "I Shall Not Yield" are closest to the spec, which means it meets my high-quality standards.

They try their hand at a two-piece combo deal consisting of "Snow" and "Faith." On the menu, it's Part I and II of "Apathy Divine," and you'll be interested to know that these parts lay flush in their respective reservoirs. In these songs, they roast in medieval folly and encourage the flames with melodious flutes and various wind instruments.

I also like the reverberating monologue in "Reason ? ?," and the comprehensive finale called "Carpe Noctem ? Sieze The Night" is quite the striking artifact too.

Likewise, everything leading up to the conclusion proves to be rigid and sound. This is a well-produced disc, and if you?re lucky, you'll find a bonus disc in the carapace that contains a live performance from ProgPower 2004. In that particular campaign, they roam far from home, but they prove to be confident in that leg of the assembly line.

Wuthering Heights hasn't revolutionized the process, but they conduct themselves in a hyper-efficient manner. In the music industry, when you're a QA Engineer like me, sometimes that's all you can ask to be consigned to the consumer.
