Delusive Dream - Lethargy

Year of Release: 1999
Label: Independent
Catalog Number: n/a
Format: CD
Total Time: 33:48:00

Formed back in 1997, this band really impressed me with their debut CD Lethargy. Mostly because the music is strong, but also because of these guys' age. Vocalist and bassist Patrick Ols is 19, guitarist Darrell Patrick is 23, while drummer Kenny Easterly is 13. No, that's not a misprint, this guy is really young.

Despite their young age, Delusive Dream sound very professional and convincing at what they do. What we get here is 6 songs of energetic, high quality, heavy metal/power metal. There are crushing, in-your-face guitars, tasty bass, great pounding drums and good aggressive, mid-ranged vocals. Although this band is pretty heavy, they still maintain the melody and song structures which makes this disc accessible to my ears. As mentioned the musicianship is very good, and the 13 year old drummer certainly delivers the goods! Wow! The production is surprisingly good, being an indie release, coming off compact and powerful, with all instruments present. Very impressive! If these guys keep it going, they are bound to get signed, as this is absolutely a top product.

Fans heavy metal/powermetal need to check this one out.
