Cage - Astrology

Year of Release: 2000
Label: Omega Records
Catalog Number: n/a
Format: CD
Total Time: 69:09:00

This is Cage's second CD. Their debut CD, Unveiled, was a good debut and showed lots of potential and talent and now the band show up on Omega Records.

This is traditional heavy metal/power metal in the vein of Judas Priest. This means that Cage is very much guitar dominated with the solid, mid-to-high ranged vocals by Sean Peck up front in the mix. The songs vary from very good to good, but I miss a couple of more standout killer songs, which would have made this album rise above the rest. Still this is a good effort. The biggest problem is the production. Although it is not particularly bad, it sounds a bit thin/flat and I guess the bass tone could be richer.

All in all a good CD, and worth checking out for fans of traditional heavy metal. With a few more killer songs to offer, they could compete with the best of them.
