Lemur Voice are another in a growing line of progressive metal artists taking pages from Dream Theater's book and trying to make them their own. Vocalist Gregor van der Loo sounds like a cross between James LeBrie, Steve Perry (Journey), and Damien Wilson (Threshhold, Landmarq). Parts of "More Than Nothing" made me think of Iron Maiden.

[But, after another listen as we were getting Progressive World ready to go [in 1999], I found that the Dream Theater comparison is only partially true - they really are less DT like, and closer to neo-prog. I like this a lot more than my brief review above (from Jan 99 [part of Quick Takes]) stated. Recommended. -ed. 7/99 [addendum updated 8/05]
