I visited the Kurgan's Bane website and I found a page referring to some idiot reviewers who referred to the group as Rush imitators. I have to agree with the group; I have no idea how anyone would come up with that analogy of their sound. Wait! I know, they didn't bother to listen the CD and they don't understand anything about music.

The Future Lies Broken is an excellent prog-rock recording with an original and stimulating sound that is all their own. Lisa Francis has a set of pipes on her that makes the music sound different ... a step away from the progressive rock that I have heard this year. You could compare this music to a steaming locomotive that never strays from its tracks, it stays right on course no matter what the speed.

Jeff Laramee (drums, percussion, vocals), Pete Laramee (guitars, vocals), and the potent Luis Nasser (bass) give Francis the support she needs to sing the night away on each track. While this is for the most part straight ahead rock-based music, the elemental progressive underpinning is constantly built within each song. It's easy enough to hear if you are listening (attention you boneheads that consider yourself to be reviewers).

I enjoyed this CD thoroughly and would highly recommend it to any prog-rock enthusiasts. What are the highlights? How about the entire CD!
