Steve Marriott and Humble Pie, a name and a band that is one and the same with blues-rock boogie-woogie music infamy. I have no reservation that music like this will live forever. I cannot think of one reason why it would not. This is all-fired-up and energetic honest to goodness blues-rock with one of the most important lead vocalist/guitarist to ever step onto the stage.

Marriot was a soulful rocker that commanded a gospel like drawl when he delivered a song. As stated in the liner notes, he would have been a terrific televangelist. He certainly was a unique front man with a distinct vocal quality. His demeanor and stage presence are what made the Humble Pie sound what it was.

The King Biscuit Flower Hour Archive Series proudly released this compilation of Greatest Hits Live, and with good reason. This recording is exceptional and it captures the band at the height of their powers rocking the house all night long on signature tracks such as ?I Don't Need No Doctor? and ?30 Days In The Hole,? which are my personal favorites. ?Hot 'n' Nasty,? the curtain closer, is a blistering display of high-powered blues-rock capping a special evening for everyone in attendance that evening. This is blues-rock music sounding just like it should, hot 'n' nasty with no frills. Every song is a monument in time to a band that deserves more credit than it received. Once you listen to this CD, you will surely agree.
