Christine Martucci looks like a foxy diva ready to lure you in with sultry vocals; however, this is not what you will hear on this CD. This is a rock 'n' roll girl with a cause. Backed by a red-hot blues-rock band, Martucci makes her way through ten tracks of rousing music. She sounds very similar to Melissa Etheridge. I have always appreciated woman rock singers with a style that is forceful and a little rough around the edges, so for me her voice was an invitation to a party.

Mama Says is a very strong effort and consistency is the primary reason. When the album kicks off and Martucci ask ?Can You Feel It,? you know that she means business. I answered that question without hesitation?yes I can feel it! Her vocals and music make you pay attention whether you want to or not, and feeling the impact of all that emotion and soulfulness is a matter of timing in each song. ?Wings? shows off her adaptability with her voice as she switches gears to sing an emotionally charged rocker/ballad, giving you a taste of another side of the woman behind the microphone.

Everything seems to be in place for the road to success for this artist. How can you miss when you are a charismatic and attractive female that offers fantastic vocals, has a great backing band, and most of all a rock 'n' roll vibe that does not let down for a second? All of this is an explosive formula that spells success. It may seem presumptuous of me to say this, but after repeated listens to this album, I could not find one reason why you would not love this music. Other than that one important prerequisite, this marvelous debut is sure to turn some heads and so is the singer.
