"Conoisseurs" already know the Swedish Landberk as sort of the Änglägard equivalent. In fact their Lonely Land CD from '92 was the English version of their Swedish debut. To make your collection complete, the Record Heaven label released Riktigt Äkta as their very first release.

From a musical point of view this album is identical to Lonely Land yet this time you get the Swedish lyrics which sort of extra underline the folky element. It's a feast for [the] analogue keyboards and especially [the] Mellotron, together with some ace acoustic guitar playing. The mainly melancholic feel gets, now and then, disturbed by hectic guitars whilst traditional instruments such as the accordion enter the arena ("Trädet"). The instrumental "Visa Frän Kallsedet" holds a lot of psychedelic pathos whilst "Undrar Om Ni Ser" is based on a repetitive eastern rhythm in order to end in true Anekdoten fashion. This re-issue is augmented with the short throwaway "Tillbaka" which highlights the phaser on the guitar.

As a document this Riktigt Äkta is interesting but I'm afraid our readers better stick to the English albums. By the way, isn't it time for a new album, gentlemen ? [Their last release was 1996's Indian Summer. -ed.]
