The intro for the opening track "March Of Folly" kicks off perfectly: a playful acoustic guitar gets assistance from an electric brother, whilst the voice tries to find its way through originality. At the exact moment, a wonderful synth solo enters the arena. We are talking about Radio Silence, who has delivered a cross between hard rock and prog with the album Laughter In The Dark and who, because of the satanic lyrics, will probably also be loved by a small army of death metal lovers. Whilst the worms search their way out of the skulls, the arrangements become better. So luckily you hear more than a wall of guitars, such as a well balanced sound of acoustic and electric guitars, economical keyboards (Korg 01W) and the band even succeeds in imposing silence upon their drummer, a thing which is not that "normal" with these kind of bands. One of the (many) highlights on this album is the long "Lamprey Man" which sounds very gothic with the main role reserved for some ace acoustic guitar and the voice of Andrés Aullet which reminds me of the "old" Ozzy Osbourne (by the way, if you listen to the first Black Sabbath albums, then you will notice a much more "progressive" sound than on their latest output!). With "Lambs Of Steel" the howling wind and church bells extra underline the weird atmosphere. In fact this band could well be an ideal artist for the Italian Black Widow label! If Laughter In The Dark is trying to give us a musical image of the end of the world then there's nothing to fear as some beautiful moments are awaiting us!

[This band later changed it's name to Sonus Umbra -ed.]
