Post-NEARFest 2000 Comments...

Although it has been more than two weeks since NEARfest, we present part two of our NEARfest special with eight reviews of albums by artists who performed at this year's event.

For those hearing one or more those bands for the first time, the complete list of reviews is at end of this article.

In a way, this week is also a spotlight of some of the bands playing at this weekend's Bospop festival. Within Temptation, whose album Larry D reviews, will play on Sunday, along with Spock's Beard and Dream Theater, both of which we've featured in the past.

We're planning more special issues for the future, geared around the upcoming festivals, along with some other ideas that we're toying with as well. But we're not ready to take the wrappings off that just yet.

Speaking of wrapping, we've added a new section to the site, Exhibits[*]. These differ from the Gallery, in that it will contain images and scans of rarities, autographed items, and the like; whereas the Gallery is more for artwork itself. In this inaugural showing, we have some autographed album covers on display. We'll be add more and different stuff as the weeks go on.
