Answer
·  Can Anyone Submit A Review/Article?

Yes and no. While we are always looking for new writers to expand our content offerings, right now reviews/articles can only be posted by the existing staff. However, you may email the publisher/editor at sollows@progressiveworld.net with what you propose to submit and it will be considered for inclusion.

·  How Can I Become A Staff Writer?

One must go through a "review" process. If you have submitted content (review, interview, article, etc.) that has been accepted, over a period of three months, you will be considered for "promotion" to "staff" writer.

During that three month period, you may not represent yourself as a Progressiveworld.net writer. You may, of course, let an artist or label know your review has been pubished here, but until you have been made a full member of the "staff" you may not introduce yourself as such. Basically, and frankly, if you are inquiringly about being a writer merely to be put on a label's promo list, we're not interested. We want writers who are interested in spreading the word about releases they feel progressive music listeners need to know about ... or be warned away from.

Please note, no writers are paid for their contributions at this time - we all do it for the love of it.

·  How Come You Haven't Reviewed [Insert Name Here]?

That can be attributable to many reasons - we may not be aware of the artist you mention, we may not own or have received the title by the artist in question, or it could be that we just haven't got to it yet. Which isn't very helpful, is it. But, if you think there's an artist we need to draw others' attention to, let us know. We aim to live up to our tagline and only you can help us do that.

Of course, another reason may be we just didn't feel they were a good fit for this site...

·  I Sent You My CD, Why Hasn't It Been Reviewed Yet?

We all receive numerous CDs to review - and we purchase many as well (well, at least I, Steph, do). And fortunately/sadly, so much music, so little time. Does that mean we'll never review your CD? No, it just means you'll have to be patient. :-) We'd rather give your work the same kind of attention in listening to it that we hope you put into recording it...*

If what you sent is not progressive rock (and its subgenres RIO, avant-garde, symphonic, etc.) or metal we may not review it, since our focus is progressive rock (etc) and metal. E.g., if you're a country artist... your CD may not get reviewed.

Somewhere on this site - not yet as of June 2006, however - we'll have something that lets you know what's currently playing on our decks...

*we all have different listening habits; speaking only for myself (Steph), I'll listen to something several times over the course of a week, and in different settings (work, car, den, ProgWorld Central), before I sit down and write a review. Being somewhat maybe OCD... or just supergeeky... I listen to items using the FIFO method (First In, First Out), though artists appearing at major festivals might get bumped up a notch...
