Tomas Bodin is releasing his sixth solo album Cinematograaf since 1996. He is known primarily as the extraordinarily gifted keyboardist and composer for The Flower Kings. Tomas' first album was An Ordinary Night In My Ordinary Life. The well received album was produced by Roine Stolt and released on Roine's label Foxtrot Music. In 2002, Tomas created his second album, Pinup Guru. He had wanted to create an Emerson, Lake, and Palmer quality for the album by keeping a trio format of keys, drums and bass throughout the album. A year later, Sonic Boulevard saw daylight, a semi-ambient / progressive album. It has afro-influences and one theme working as an id? fix.

His next album, The Swedish Family, a Vintage Prog album was released. The music was in the tradtion of Swedish folk rock. Two years later Tomas decided to release a "real" record. A bigger production with vocals, lyrics, a concept Rock Opera. The concept included 3 albums I Am, You Are, He She It, was born.

I Am was Tomas looking at himself in a sort of biographical way. You Are, Tomas looking at You (the lyrics explain this further); He She It, a story about love from different angles.

Cinematograaf is Tomas' sixth album a richly textured album with dynamic moods of power and softness. Its unique blend of instrumentals with classical and traditional styling along with stategic sound effects interlace to create a magical mix that will lead you to belief you are truly engaged at the Cinematograaf. Track titles include "An Ocean In Between", "Spanish Ballerina In Love," and "Six, Six, Six."

A classically trained pianist, Tomas has also worked with The Royal National Theather of Drama (Dramaten), Riksteatern, Upsala Stadsteater and has had a few acting roles in movies.

The artwork for Cinematograaf (above left, click to enlarge) was created by Ed Unitsky, who has done covers for The Flower Kings, The Tangent, and Starcastle, among many others.
