"We are pleased as Swedish punch to announce that none other than Stick Men will join Isildurs Bane for IB Expo 09. For those of you still to find out, Stick Men is a trio consisting of none other than Tony Levin on stick, Michael Bernier on stick and Pat Matelotto on sticks, drums, cymbals, percussion, bells, whistles, the kitchen sink and whatnot. The IB Expo 09 concert will take place in Halmstad, Sweden at Kulturhuset on November 14. The event begins at 19.30. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, June 26 at Biljettcentrum in Halmstad (phone +4635120200) or via Ticnet (www.ticnet.se). Please note that IB Expo sold out in 2007 and 2008 well before the concert. For your own sake, please get your tickets now! You won?t regret it.

"For those of you not familiar with the individual Stick Men, here?s some info on this spectacular and powerful trio. First of all, the leader of the gang: Tony Levin! It has been said about lots of artists, but in this case it is true indeed. Tony Levin needs no introduction, really. He is known for recordings and live performances with Polar prize winner Peter Gabriel, John Lennon, Pink Floyd, Paul Simon, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Al Di Meola, Dire Straits, Seal, Frida (of ABBA), Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Paula Cole, Ringo Starr, Stevie Nicks, Robbie Robertson, Carly Simon, David Torn, Richard Thompson, James Last, Andy Summers, James Taylor, Yes, Tom Waits and many more.

"What is less known is that Mr. Levin?s recording debut happened with The Greater Boston Youth Orchestra back in 1962. Tony Levin was also among the innovative musicians who gathered in New York to experiment with what later became jazz-rock. The late-60?s band White Elephant featured such luminaries such as Mike Mainieri, Steve Gadd, Randy Brecker and Michael Brecker. And Tony Levin. Some talent there.

"During the 70?s, Levin moved from playing with jazz giants such as Brother Jack McDuff and Gary Burton to session work with a vast number of people (see the discography page at www.tonylevin.com). Faithful readers of this newsletter probably know Tony Levin from his work with Peter Gabriel and King Crimson, of course.

"Tony Levin has released six solo CD's and three books over his vast and incredible career. His highly recommended and informative website, www.tonylevin.com (having over 3 million hits) features one of the web's first road diaries and behind-the scenes photos of many tours he has done. In addition to embarking on recording and touring with Stick Men, he is currently a member of King Crimson and of the Peter Gabriel Band.

"Pat Mastelotto has graced IB Expo before and he has become a part of the IB family. For those of you that have missed out on this wonderful guy: Pat has spent a lifetime jumping genres from pop, to prog, to electronica to world music with, among others, Mr. Mister, XTC, David Sylvian, The Rembrandts, Kimmo Pohjonen, Pamelia Kurstin and for the last 15 years with King Crimson. Visit his website www.patmastelotto.com.

"Multi-instrumentalist Michael Bernier is considered to be one of the world's best Chapman Stick players. He is credited in Tony Levin's Stick Man album with ?Advanced Stick Techniques?. You can always find Michael inventing new and exciting playing approaches to the Stick. For more info on his projects see his Myspace music page. www.myspace.com/michaelbernierchapmanstickist.
