Pericardium began in February 2006 as a collaborative and mixed project to fuse everything from hip hop to jazz to metal. After getting a good amount of songs together, forming a full band, and playing numerous shows, the group released Apartheid Of The Mind in 2007; an astoundingly eclectic and progressive album featuring dual vocals, guitar, bass, keys, drums, and violin.

In 2008 the band signed with local indie label Dosh Records, featuring the south bay?s finest alternative rock bands. Playing shows in San Jose, San Francisco, Antioch, Gilroy, Saratoga, Los Gatos, Foster City and beyond, Pericardium is always trying to expose themselves to new fans. Performing alongside such acts as Daphne Loves Derby, Making April, Audrye Sessions, Scissors for Lefty, Self Against City, The Mile After, Tumbledown (featuring Mike of MXPX), as well as local favorites Picture Atlantic and The Pilot?s Wife, Pericardium has earned themselves a devoted local fanbase; including a local showcase at renowned San Francsico venue Slims.

The current line-up has Sean E. Sullivan on guitar and vocals, bassist David Marshall, Mike Black on lead guitar and keys, and Luis Munoz on drums. Pericardium?s new 30 minute mini album Salutary demonstrates the new direction of the band, and its still eclectic, but more defined, sound. Featuring politically and socially driven lyrics, virtuosic lead guitar, emotional spacey atmosphere, and a solid groove that will pulsate through you, Pericardium is not a band to miss. Hailing from the San Francisco bay area, a place known for social and artistic movements, the band hopes to strengthen its mark on the scene in 2009 and continue the reputation the wonderful area has earned in past decades.

Pericardium is in the process of booking as many independent tours and out-of-town stops as possible in hoping to make their vision a reality.
