As forwarded by Alquimia 104 and written by Bruce Simon:

Yes will release a five-disc box set of their latter-day albums next month [now this month]. The Essentially Yes package has complete versions of their most recent studio albums -- 1994's Talk, 1997's Open Your Eyes, 1999's The Ladder, and 2001's Magnification -- as well as an unreleased live show from the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland in 2003 that mixes older and newer material. Essentially Yes [came] out December 5th.

Yes is on hiatus, and there's no word on when the band will reconvene.

The Montreux concert in Essentially Yes includes "Siberian Khatru," "Magnification," "Don't Kill The Whale," "In The Presence Of," "We Have Heaven," "South Side Of The Sky," "And You And I," "Awaken," and "I've Seen All Good People."

Plus, addeth PW, here you can see the cover artwork, remiscent of that for Open Your Eyes with the classic Roger Dean typography. Comments regarding this set (seen at Amazon.com) say there are none of the original liner notes included with the CDs, just sleeves with the artwork; no info that the albums have been remastered or the like; and there is no bonus material appended to these reissues. That leaves the 5th disc, the live recording from 2003, as the real lure... but... good performance? Bad performance? Is the sound good or bad?

The set has been issued by Eagle Rock.
