Date: Monday, July 05 @ 20:05:00 UTC
Topic: Band News (tours, comings/goings, etc)

Isildurs Bane write, "Our friend Mick Karn needs our help and your help. He has been diagnosed with advanced stages of cancer. As of this writing, Mick is in a hospital getting treatment. The following is from Mick?s official website www.mickkarn.net:

Mick has been struggling financially for some considerable time now and we are hoping that this appeal may help to raise funds for any necessary treatment and perhaps go some way towards providing a small degree of financial support whilst Mick's immediate family provide the care and comfort we would all wish for him. We are hoping that his friends, fans and musical colleagues will, over the coming months, offer any support they feel capable of giving. Quite aside from the sheer brunt of daunting medically-related costs, Mick's clear and major concern is for the security and well being of his wife and young son.

"We were all shocked to hear about Mick?s very serious illness. Obviously, we support him morally and financially. We hope you will too if you can. Here are a few suggestions:

? ? - IB will donate 10% of any record sales (that includes records you buy from any shop or digitally) to Mick during 2010
? ? - We will donate 10 % of ticket sales at IB Expo 10 - which will be held Saturday, November 27 in Halmstad (more info on the event to follow shortly)
? ? - You can support Mick by buying his music (we would recommend buying it from Mick?s website www.mickkarn.net or buy it digitally from iTunes). A good idea is to buy Mick Karn?s biography, it is a really good read! It is self-published by MK music and you can buy it here: www.lulu.com.
? ? - Mick?s friends in Porcupine Tree are also helping out [... by ...] selling a complete two hour live recording from the Fear Of A Blank Planet tour as a download to raise money for Mick. More information at www.porcupinetree.com.
? ? - Drummer Steve Jansen is offering another way of raising money. If you purchase any portrait from his website collection and state that you are purchasing as a means of donating to the Mick Karn appeal, the funds will be be donated to the fund. Any Mick Karn portrait purchased will automatically be donated to the fund. www.stevejansen.com/imageshop

"There are other options too, of course. Keep yourself up to date by visiting Mick?s website frequently: www.mickkarn.net. We know Mick appreciates any help you can provide. Thank you."

In other IB news, "On Midsummer?s eve, the classic Sophocles play Antigone [was] premiered at Skillinge Teater in Skillinge, Sweden. It features new IB music and a strong cast, including director Mariana Araoz from Collectif Masque in Paris. Later this year, the play will be presented in Paris, too (with IB?s music of course).

"The play will be performed on the following dates at Skillinge Teater: 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 25, 27, 28, 31 July; 1, 3, 4, 7 and 8 August.
