This is Swedish prog metal sensation Pain Of Salvation's third album and the follow-up to the fantastic One Hour By The Concrete Lake.

As with their previous albums, the music is not easy to digest, but it grows on you for each spin, and though it may not seem so at first, the music is super-melodic all way through. While the new album doesn't have as many heavy parts as OHBTCL, this CD blends the best of the two first CDs perfectly, still taking the music to the next level. The mix of heavy, dark, mellow and atmospheric parts and themes are simply perfect, and work out really well for the band. Daniel Gildenlöw's vocals has improved remarkably, and both his vocal performance and vocal lines are all brilliant. The musicianship is outstanding, the songwriting pure genius, and arrangements innovative and suit the music perfectly. The production has also improved since the last CD.

I could go on and on about this CD as everything about the music is so deep, innovative and original. Fans of intelligent, thought provoking music, and all prog metal fans should have this CD in their collection, PERIOD! A masterpiece!
