Year 2000 sees the return of legendary band Armored Saint with their 7th album Revelation. It's been 9 years since their last album was released, the rather successful Symbol Of Salvation. Those new to the band might recognise names such as Joey Vera (now in Fates Warning) and John Bush who joined Anthrax in 1992.

The 2000 version of Saint is deeply-rooted in 80s heavy metal/power/US metal, yet sounding fresh, modern and up to date. There are layers of fat, heavy, powerful guitars, good, clean and powerful mid-ranged vox, tasty, present bass and great drumming. The melody-lines is for the most part very good and the same goes for the choruses. A couple of songs are lacking good melody-lines and doesn't grab you at all, but overall the songs are of great quality and there is no mistake that this band has taken this comeback seriously, laying down both mind and soul in this CD.

The production is good, coming off powerful and clear, with depth. Fans of the band should get this CD immediately. As for those not familiar with the band, this CD would make a good place to start. With a quality CD as Revelation, the comeback of Armored Saint is a pleasant one.
