The Art Of Navigating By The Stars ? a first-class title that perfectly sums up the stunning return of Germany's Sieges Even to the world's progressive scene. In fact, the band guided by the Holzwarth brothers had already tossed the towel some years ago, after a series of astonishing albums, all equally and unjustly ignored by the vast majority of prog followers (thanks also to their difficult availability) and the quick ending of the resounding project with Andrè Matos (under the name Looking Glass Self). But it's fortune that around 2002 everything changed for the better. First of all there was the reconciliation with Markus Steffen, the original guitar player of the band. Then an essential yet mysterious tape came knocking at Sieges Even's door. It was of Arno Menses, an unknown singer/drummer who was a hard-core fan of the combo, too. Bad luck no more. Thanks to the fantastic ideas and vocal harmonies of the aforementioned Arno, the group started writing new material and switched to a much more melodic and easy-listening prog sound, that once in a while still recalls Steps and A Sense Of Change, their best works. Great idea, as demonstrated by the acrobatic "The Weight" or the melancholic "The Lonely Views Of Condors." There was only one missing link: who was going to publish the album? Enter the powerful Inside Out! Perfect. Now there are no more excuses to ignore this great band. It's time to navigate the stars. Come on!
