Although the little impressionistic painting on the cover doesn't betray what is here to explore from a musical point of view, you only have to listen a couple of seconds in order to realize that once again some Italian prog history is being written. Whilst drama is falling from the papal sky in every thinkable key your speakers can ever digest, there's no way one can deny the fact that the mighty Fabio Zuffanti surely must have something to do with this release. Those of you who roll themselves into this Italian prog orgasm will immediately think of Maschera di Cera, whilst the music from Giardini d'Autunno might be a little darker, spiriting away some light avant-garde elements. Also the use of effects and electronic gadgets give the music an original touch, whilst the darker side of the music leans towards King Crimson during their Red period, whilst also containing some Anekdoten-like moments. Bathing in lakes of mellotron and often backed by ominous arrangements, this mainly instrumental album has become a very interesting audio experience which will most certainly please fans of Il Balletto di Bronzo and Goblin alike. Although the work on this wonderful album is mainly that of multi-instrumentalist Tiziano Rea, the inclusion of authentic acoustic instruments would certainly do the music a world of good. So it's with great expectations that we are longing for a following album!
