This is the debut album of US power-metallers Fiarro.

Led by guitarist John Fiarro, who some might remember from the Texas-based power metal band Talisphere, Fiarro play up-tempo guitar-based power-prog, with rather high-pitched vocals. As mentioned, the songs are rather up-tempo, with solid guitar-work, time-changes, acoustical passages and a melodic approach. It's hard to find any comparisons, but there are elements of bands like Queensrÿche, Maiden, etc. to be found here. Of the 9 tracks offered, there are some really good melodic songs here, but I feel that overall some of the melody-lines become a bit anonymous and unfinished. They are on to something in each song, but get off track once in a while with unmelodious verses, passages or solos. Thankfully, there are some very good tracks that compensate for this fact.

The music lack from an average production and the overall clear and strong vocals of Vikk Real, is sometimes a bit off note, when overstraining himself. Some choruses are also a bit off note mainly due to poor backing vocals that does not always combine very well with Real's vocals. Having this said, these guys are very competent musicians and show lots of potential. And with a little-bit of improvement in the songwriting/song-structure department, this will get very good. As mentioned, some of these songs are great, and I especially enjoyed the acoustical-guitar passages and solos.

People into this kind of music will certainly enjoy most of the material.
