Leader of Italian band Procession,Marcello Capra has also released two solo albums showing off his great skills on the acoustic guitar. Both of these albums have now found their way onto this CD, Imaginations. The eight tracks which make up the Aria Mediterranea album date from 1978 and offer superb classical, southern flavoured guitar accompanied by splendid flute and violin playing. "Biosfera" sits in between John Renbourn and Gordon Giltrap whilst the fragile "Il Sole Silla Palude" and "Merligen" could well be an outtake from one of the many Private Parts And Pieces albums by Anthony Philips.

The remaining ten tracks date from 1992 and here, Capra also uses electric guitar. This way "Colombiana" sounds like a cross between Jean-Pascal Boffo and Philharmonie. His style enables the listener to also hear a rhythm although everything is done on guitar. Capra is without any doubt one of the best kept secrets to come out of the Italian woodwork for a long time.
