With a name as silly and obscure as Unifaun, I expected this to be an unlistenable album. Truthfully, the end result is remarkably good. While it starts off somewhat dampened and hampered, I was ultimately aroused by wispy synthesizers on par with Nestl? Aero and Cadbury Flake.

Unifaun's debut is Genesis system-integrated with the suspense-driven games of Tron, and it's apparent that the master director behind the console has done his best to clone Peter Gabriel's hypnotic voice. If you splice the layers, you may even hear Moon Safari or the Beach Boys in the underbelly of its milieu. All around, this is a valiant effort by a group of relatively unknown entities.

To make my debugging complete, I will insert this breakpoint: Both "Birth Of A Biggie" and "Swingers Party" performed very well. Additionally, "Rehacksis," "Finist?re", and "End-Or-Fin" are a triage of dandy instrumentals that run through the compiler with ease. To provide another technical reference, Van McCoy and the Soul City Symphony have seemingly inspired the disco in these cuts.

I'd certainly be open to channeling more of this fine output into my aural sensors the next time they spike the market with their flaky, airy material. In the meantime, this pristine data will suffice to pre-populate our minds with the songs that Genesis should have programmed in their neophytic prime.

[There is also an Italian Genesis tribute band named Unifaun, with whom this Unifaun should not be confused -ed.]
