There isn?t a lot to say about this album. It?s been recorded for the DVD production, most of all.

This double CD represents a live performance the band played in Zoetermeer more than one year ago, and contains all the Pallas trademarks. Many of the songs performed here are part of the Scottish band?s last effort, The Cross Aand The Crucible. Other songs are taken from Beat The Drum, like title song and "Blood And Roses;" other ones are from Arrive Alive and The Sentinel, while The Wedge has on this album only the medley "The Executioner/Rat Racing," that is surely one of the highlights of this double CD.

But the best part of this Blinding Darkness is the encore section, where Euan Lowson appears on stage for the first time since he left the band during the Eighties. He sings on "Cut And Run" and on "The Ripper," which reminded me of "The Return Of Giant Hogweed" in some parts. It?s certain that these encores have to be appreciated more on the DVD release, thanks to the theatrical acts by Lowson. That?s for sure!

For the rest, this live album hasn?t any differences from the studio performances; it?s played very well and the production is perfect.
