This is the second release from the Hendrix family label Dagger Records. It was the second show at Clark University in Worcester Massachusetts on March 15, 1968 at Atwood Hall, which held only 600 students for each show. The group experienced problems with their amps at the show and the sound quality suffered on these recordings because of it. Nevertheless it's still Hendrix, and it's all great music. It's amazing how many times you can hear "Foxey Lady" or "Wild Thing," and how many different variations of those songs that the group played on any given night.

The interviews with the Experience group members are very interesting. You get to hear how many different personalities where at work while developing the music. Jimi's interview before the concert starts off the disc. I was quite impressed with his intelligence and eloquence while he talked about his music. He was asked what kind of music they played and he replied that he didn't think it was any one genre, it's whatever you decided it was, and it didn't matter as long as it got you in a groove and you dug it. Emotions were regarded as playing a big role in what they sounded like when they performed, and with three individuals with different emotions flying about all at once, it sure made for some advanced musical progressions, on stage and in the studio. This all became very clear to me after listening to all of the interviews and the live cuts in between. I have read books and listened to countless albums by Hendrix and his groups, it wasn't until I sat down and listened to the man talk about his music when it all finally hit home. There is always more to it than just the music, and this disc makes that more than obvious once you take in every aspect of it. I enjoyed all of this so much. I highly recommend this for any music fan regardless of what type of music you may like.
