Habitat by Man On Fire is one of the albums that I?ve been listening to for quite a while. I was so curious to discover the new aspects of this third work by the American band because I was very impressed by their The Undefined Design album released more or less two years ago.

This new Habitat CD continues on the path that band has been painting over the last several years. A strong production introduces to us a series of heavy guitar riffs that are the trademark of the band, together with the vocal melodies that let you understand the style of the band. This time, the two guys, Jeff Hodges (vocals and keys) and Eric Sands (guitars and basses) are joined by Rob Sindon on the drums, David Ragsdale on violin (already present on TUD) and, most of all, by Adrian Belew; you can hear his distinguishable guitar touch. The music is completed by some keyboards, electronic sounds and some programmed loops that make the sound more modern. And it can be defined as the right successor to The Undefined Design even if it doesn?t have many differences when considered against the previous albums.

The lyrics are very good; they relate a concept based on the stories and experiences of the people that live in a particular block [the "habitat"].

Anyway, I definitely suggest supporting this band because it represents one of the most original groups around.
