Reviewed by: Stephanie Sollow, July 1999 Take a bit of Iron Maiden, a bit of Saga, a bit of Styx and stir them up together and you have Magnum. On the whole, the tracks here are good if not particularly challenging. "Great Adventures" made me think of yet another quasi-progressive band, Queen. This mainly due to the vocal harmonies here and the way they're used. Not necessarily recommended, but not warned against either. If this type of music appeals to you then Magnum fit that niche. [You might think it telling that the discography below is longer than the review above, but in a previous incarnation of the site, this was intended to be a brief, quick take.] More about Anthology: Track Listing: In The Beginning (415) / Lords Of Chaos (3:37) / Kingdom Of Madness (4:27) / The Bringer (3:57) / Great Adventures (4:51) / Fire Bird (4:45) / Foolish Heart (3:10) / Stayin' Alive (3:21) / If I Could Live Forever (4:01) / Reborn (Live) (6:05) / Changes (Live) (3:42) / Walking The Straight Line (4:51) / We All Play The Game (4:05) / The Spirit (4:17) / The Prize (3:39) / Vicious Companions (3:33) Contact: Website: www.magnumonline.co.uk Discography
