Every time I watch any of the Beatles perform, the same thing happens: I get nostalgic, wispy, and feel chills. It always makes me feel good so there has never been a reason not to watch and listen to DVDs by any of the former mop tops.

Paul Is Live In Concert On The New World Tour is Paul McCartney and his band, including wife Linda, performing all of the Wings and Beatles hits in a concert from 1993. It features one of the classic lineups that McCartney played with over the years with Hamish Stuart, Wix Wickens, Blair Cunningham and Robbie MacIntosh.

The song selection is wonderful but the quality of the film is sub par. I found the switching from color to black and white scenes a bit irritating and the camera work could have been better. It all seems outdated in comparison to what is available today. I am accustomed to the very best sound and technical advances when viewing a DVD. These are some high standards to match but I also realize I cannot expect that kind of quality every time I view footage originally shot prior to 2000. Nevertheless, this is Paul McCartney and it was a joy to view. He is in good voice and his band is in accord on every song while providing some fine backup vocals and harmonies. This kind of timeless music is always enjoyable even if the visuals are not what you have come to expect.
