Vocalist Joe Newnam (as printed in the booklet, but I've seen it Newman elsewhere) sounds like a melding of Gabriel and Collins...on a not so good day. The music is good but not inspiring, more 80's Genesis than 70's Genesis, but really falling somewhere in between. "Plastic Fantastic" is by far the weirdest track on the album, mostly down to vocal effects. When I first heard this a few years back, I liked it. The Genesisisms didn't bother me. Now, even though I still like it overall, not as much.
