ProgWest 2003Last updated: May 23, 2003 The 2003 edition has been cancelled. Here's the official announcement from the festival's organizers: It is with much regret that we must announce the cancellation of ProgWest 2003. Due to unresolved scheduling conflicts with two of the bands under negotiation, we have decided to put the festival on hiatus. Scaling back to a single-day event is not feasible when considering the associated costs of bringing sound and lighting to the venue. It is important to us that we maintain the integrity of the festival by presenting the lineup that was originally intended. Our disappointment at ProgWest's dissolution is tempered by the excitement in our new endeavor: Octagon Music Festival (www.octagonfestival.com). Bookmark this site for music news, articles, reviews and audio. And, as it is available, information will be posted about an extensive music event in 2004. There are many great music festivals scheduled around the country this year. In particular, we urge you to attend North Carolina's ProgDay (www.progday.com) this September for an eclectic lineup of forward-thinking music.
