Reviewed by: Bjørnar Bevolden, November 2002 David DeFeis is at it again, and this time with a full blown 2 CD set. I'll admit that it is an ambitious project he has headed into, but somehow he seems to succeed at everything he does. When it comes to the music, there is not much new, this is still well orchestrated, symphonic and pompous power metal. There are interludes and instrumental pieces, like we are used to, and overall the songs are just as good as on The House Of Atreus Act I. Vocally, DeFeis improves for each CD. Although not all songs are of the same high quality and some tend to sound the same, I am impressed by the creativity of main man DeFeis. Overall this is a great CD. The production is OK, but can always get better. This is a must for all powermetal and Virgin Steele fans.
