CD/DVD Releases: Steel Attack Expands Into Progressive And Symphonic Metal Realm On Diabolic

Steel Attack?s fifth album Diabolic Symphony is now released in the US through Locomotive Records.

The album, recorded at Black Lounges Studio in Avesta, Sweden, was mixed by by Jonas Kjellgren and produced by Kjellgren and Steel Attack. Diabolic Symphony is also the first album to be recorded with drummer Tony Elfving, who was previously in Arcana Major and Lack of Faith with vocalist Ronny Hemlin.

Diabolic Symphony is a clear departure from Steel Attack?s traditional power metal style and explores the realms of heavy melodic metal with symphonic progressive undertones.

"We all agreed it was time for a change," said vocalist Ronny Hemlin. "We felt we needed to mature musically and it was also a natural progression due to the new blood in the band."

The CD includes a bonus video for the track "Diabolic Symphony,? directed by Owe Lingvall, drummer of Nocturnal Rites.

"The video plays out a very dark story of a mentally disturbed man trapped in a void - a dark space which is this man?s own Hell,? said Hemlin. ?He has been lured there by an enchanting diabolic symphony. The story is also mixed with sequences of the band playing in a ?diabolical? environment. "

The video is included on the Nuclear Blast compilation DVD Monsters Of Metal Volume 5, released this past summer.

Steel Attack has currently returned to Lingvall?s studio to film their second video from the album for the track ?Invisible God.?
