Concerts: The Musical Box Tour ''The Black Show''
The incredible Peter Gabriel era Genesis recreation band is back & this time with a rare alternate version of their classic Selling England By The Pound tour - "The Black Show."
In addition to a series of UK and European dates in October, a December 7 show has been announced for the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee, WI, presented by 91.7 WMSE.
From the info sent to theater newsletter subscribers: So what is it that makes The Black Show so special??
*Stage: the famous "hour glass" shaped props were replaced by black curtains. All instruments and accessories were painted black. This enhanced Peter Gabriel's sudden appearance and disappearance on stage.
*Lights: modified since the black stage did not provide the same reflection properties of the white one.
*Slides: two circular projection screens introduced. Slides modified.
*Masks: during "Supper's Ready (iii. Ikhnaton and Itsacon)", Pharoah's Hat (aka: pharaon's headpiece) was introduced. [...]
*Setlists: "The Knife" dropped (Genesis received a lot of criticism for refusing to perform encores). The rest of the songs were performed in the same order as in the "White Show".
*Black Shows: the most notable and ROIO-recorded Genesis shows from the 1974 March-May American tour have been Miami, Detroit, Montreal and NY Academy of Music.
