From LeParc (translated): "Claudio Simonetti & Company are placed in the precious vein of Italian progressive rock. After the great success of the hit Profondo Rosso, 4 million copies sold worldwide, followed by another shadowy cult film, the thriller-horror film Suspiria and its soundtrack, [a list] which will be added to [by] the score of the Italian version of George Romero's Dawn Of The Dead, another disk of the best sellers of the group at the international level and all carried out under the monicker of Goblin. The band in the twenty years [between] '80-'90 had several solo forays [by] some its members before returning in 2000 to compose the soundtrack in full force I'm not tired of thrillers of Dario Argento. [I'm not sure what that last bit means exactly, except that Argento has done a lot of thrillers... -ed.]

Listen to a clip of "Profundo Rosso" here

Together retrace the history of this legendary group, unique in its kind, with a new tour and a new formation called the New Goblin, which sees Claudio Simonetti and Massimo Morante on keyboards and guitar, the original founders of the band in 1974; Mauritius Guarini on keyboards (ex-Goblin, who played with the band from 1976 to 1977 recording the album Roller); Titta Tani on drums; and [on] bass, Bruno Previtali, [the latter two] musicians who have played with Simonetti for over 10 years with his other band Daemon [and who have] now also entered in the New Goblin ... a unique and unrepeatable event ...

Live Rome - New Goblin - Out in February, almost simultaneously with the start of the tour, [the CD] includes live recordings of the famous concert at Alpheus in Rome, which was "sold out" for weeks before. This CD is definitely also fill the void of the discography of New Goblin with an anthology of their most famous songs and above all puts order in the infinite series of illegal bootlegs, especially from Asia, that have long circulated in the international market. The Dell'Alpheus concert closes the circle of gold on a series of events held in Helsinki (Finland), Kawasaki (Japan), Krakow (Poland, Unsound), Glasgow (UK, The Arches), Rome (with Steve Hackett Progexibition Genesis), Berlin (Germany, Polyhymnia Festival), Gateshead (UK, The Sage), Veruno NO (Veruno Prog Fest), Milan (General Stores), etc.. which featured the New Goblin between the most popular bands of the new generation for the spirit and the immortality of their works.

[According to the New Goblin website, Goblin will get together near Rome in February for a few days of rehearsal and to finalize their new album, that will be released soon. Next gigs: Milano (Italy), Gateshead (UK) and Glasgow (UK) {dates tba} -ed.]
