Ohead's Gaia's Garden - An Incredible Album And The Critics Agree!

Released earlier this year from Stone Island Records. Ohead is creating a real buzz amongst music lovers everywhere and had a significant presence in Myspace charts even prior to the album release. Dave Hendry is the genius who has raised from seed this flawless, all original new album.

No newcomer to the music scene, Dave has a superb and extensive back catalogue which began with Silent Universe in 1998, followed by Steps Across The Cortex in 2005. Dave also masterminded Transequence, a psyche-trance-ambient-dub project which furnished several great releases.

Dave has had many other albums and tracks on compilations under 31 different artist names including spirits of the Sacred Groove, Bud Drubbers, Velocity Saws, The Purple Genii, Invisible Beyond and Sporum to name but a few and has had several hundred tracks included on various compilation albums. The styles embraced psy-trance, ambient, dub and drum n bass. The most notable is the Buddha Experience series of 5 wonderful double CDs which sold well over 100, 000 copies worldwide.

Gaia's Garden is a deliberate and focused creation that moves away from mere electronica and extends and broadens the richness of sound by adding more "real" instruments. The result is astonishing ... atmospheric and dynamic ... Drum and bass rhythms interwoven with keyboards & guitar and polished to perfection by crisp production ... the album is saturated with feel-good factor. We feel no need for superlative descriptions as Gaia's Garden speaks immeasurably for itself. It just has to be experienced. This incredible work is housed in artwork created by Dave Hendry.

Gaia's Garden is surely Dave Hendry?s finest hour. The album also features Will from The Space Pirates and Gaz and Rachel H from Slippery Fish.

"Fans of psychedelic and ambient music are in for an absolute treat with this simply brilliant and quite stunning release from Ohead. The man behind the band/music is Dave Hendry and the multi-instrumentalist already has a plethora of work to his name but I doubt if he has previously produced anything as devastatingly good as this. Guitar and keyboards combine fluidly with drums and bass to produce an instrumental landscape of sound that is dreamy, ethereal and atmospheric. A tad of space rock for sure but think of the mighty Ozrics and early Porcupine Tree given full reign to experiment in rhythms and sound effects and you'll have some idea of what is happening here. Hendry has been very clever as he uses several guests to devastating effect on several of the tracks. The genre of psychedelic/ambient rock simply doesn't get any better than this." - T.C., The Classic Rock Society mag Aug/Sept

"Gaia's Garden is the third album from Dave Hendry (the previous 2 being Silent Universe & Steps Across The Cortex). This is exactly the sort of music that got me into electronic psychedelic music all them years ago. This is melodic ambient space rock at its best & I love it. The album pays respect to bands like the Ozric Tentacles without losing Dave's own particular style. Brilliant guitaring interwoven with lush soundscapes & textures creates a kaleidoscopic wonderland for the senses. I have listened to the CD many times in a horizontal position & I would recommend everybody do the same. This is perfect listening for the twilight hours which takes you on a walk down memory lane to the psychedelia from days of yore." - BPM Mag
