Topic: Band News (tours, comings/goings, etc)

The John Young will be playing a series of solo dates in the US this February, beginning with the Shanachie Pub in Willits, California. Later, he and his band will be playing shows in UK. "[A]nd a new CD in the summer (if the wind blows favourably)," Young wrote in a message posted to the RoSFest newsgroup. "The band line up currently includes Robin Boult (Howard Jones, Fish) [on] guitars, Ian Salmon (Arena) [on] bass and Frosty Beedle (Cutting Crew) [on] drums. We also hope to be joined by Matt Malley (Counting Crows) on bass for a couple of tracks. On top of that if you'd like some music, you can now download 10 CDs worth of JY tunes FREE at www.we7.com."

Dates still to be confirmed in Portland, Oregon; Oxnard, California; and San Francisco & the Bay Area, California.

"You can help too......... I'm still looking for a few more gigs. Generally places that hold 50-120 people you can kind of see where I'm at geographically from the above shows [see below -ed] ... so if you have any ideas for another concert just let me know :-)

"If you are an artist or band and would like to do a joint show then please feel free to get in touch either through Myspace or regular e-mail at soblivious (at) btinternet.com."
