...Changes Aren't Permanent, But Change Is...

Well, this week announces another change at Progressive World that I think just might yield the true win-win situation that I was hoping for with posting reviews daily. It's a win for us, because we will have more time to truly assess the albums we're reviewing. While we've never published knee-jerk reactions to an album, we also haven't had the opportunity to "live with" a CD a while before commenting on it. This change will mean a win for you, because, conceivably, we'll be able to publish more reviews each time. And, publish better reviews.

So, with that in mind, we'll publish more reviews next Monday that will hopefully include albums by Rick Ray, New Sun, Bablicon, Tangerine Dream, Uz Jsme Doma, and others. Then, our next review update will be December 15; meaning we're slowing down to a monthly.

This change affects reviews only, and excludes Progressive Voice: The Voice of Larry D. Because Larry publishes on his own schedule to the Perpetual Motion board first, we will "syndicate" his reviews as they come to us. The other sections of the site will be updated as needed.

All of which leads me/us to the other advantage of this change - I would like to devote more time to developing the other areas of the site.

For those have been following along on this journey, I thank you for your repeat visits. During the month between the end of August and the end of September, our visits quadrupaled. And while we can't boast millions of unique visitors (yet), we're pretty proud. An inital look at our stats show that we've had visitors from 36 different countries, including such places as Latvia, United Arab Emirates, Slovak Republic - places that I'm glad to see prog of some variety is reaching - as well as the "usual suspects": US, Germany, Sweden, France, Italy, and, of course, the UK.

Our only updates for this week are in the [now gone] Aural Odyssey section - Steve Roach's Light Fantastic and Icebreaker's Distant Early Warning

My goodness, I kept changing things, didn't I. I tell you, it all had to do with my work committments outside the PW realm. And the chaos then in '99 was nothing like it became in '03... (when I changed departments) and then in '06 (another change)... Change is just a part of my life, I guess. Rush certainly were right about "changes," weren't they? - SS Sep 2011
