Maryland-based experimental, progressive metal band Periphery has entered the studio to begin recording its sophomore full-length album for an early 2012 release via Sumerian Records. Commented guitarist Jake Bowen: "We've got a ton of new songs ready that we can't wait for you guys to hear.
"We'll spend the winter in the studio with Taylor Larson (our good friend Nolly Getgood is co-producing with Misha Mansoor).
"We've decided to go a new direction with our music and we're calling this new genre DjentSlam!

Next year German band Art Of Infinity will release a new album called Raumwerk. After three albums - New Horizon, Dimension Universe and Endless Future - lyrics for the new album are in German language for the first time. In addition to that there will some musical surprises, too. On their new album Art Of Infinity masterminds Thorsten Rentsch and Thorsten Sudler-Mainz work together with first class musicians again. Amongst others new guest musicians in Art Of Infinity are American percussion player Byron Metcalf and German violinist Thomas Kagermann.
