CD/DVD Releases: Scythe Of Orion Release EP "X-lives"
Symphonic Metal sensations Scythe Of Orion from Finland release their second offering, the X-lives EP. Founded in 2006, they first released a single "The Dawn Of Scythe Of Orion" in June 2007.
The songs included in X-lives were composed between 1995-2008, so the music has existed long before the band got its final composition in 2007. The music in X-lives varies from straight forward to more complex.
The band's music in general is mentioned to be dramatic and full of suspense. It is based on the melodies. Delicate violin and piano solos create strong counterbalance to the heavyness of the whole ensemble. Violin is not just a spice in the arrangements but has an important part in the music.
