CD/DVD Releases: Australian rockers Tracer Release Debut Album 'Spaces In Between'

Posted on Monday, September 05 @ 15:00:00 UTC by nightowl

Tracer the exciting three-piece heavy rock band from Adelaide, Southern Australia, are pleased to announce that their debut album, Spaces In Between, will be released in the UK on Monday October 3rd by the independent Dutch rock label, Cool Green Recordings.

If Robert Plant and Jimi Hendrix made love to the sounds of Audioslave, it would probably sound something like Tracer. With a distinctive sound reminiscent of 90’s grunge/stoner rock, mixed with the everlasting bravado of 70’s classic rock, Tracer delivers a driving, sonic sledgehammer of sound. The line-up features brothers Michael (vocals, guitar) and Leigh Brown (vocals, bass) and drummer Andre Wise.

Tracer will join Royal Republic as special guest for the second half of their “We Are The Royal” European Tour, taking on 24 dates through France, UK, Germany, The Netherlands and Sweden. The UK leg of the tour starts at the Sheffield Corporation on Monday October 24th.

Entitled Spaces In Between, Tracer's new album includes 12 in-your-face songs that will stick in your head for days, weeks and years to come. The first single "Too Much" includes a stunning and energetic promo video that will premiere on YouTube in the coming weeks.

Rising from the ashes of blues prodigy band The Brown Brothers in 2004, Michael and Leigh teamed up with drummer Andre Wise to form Tracer. The following years have seen the trio find success with two independent releases; two international tours, including support slots for Little Red, Children Collide, The John Steel Singers and Cassette Kids; and most recently, a record contract with highly respected Dutch label Mascot Records.

Following their successful debut European tour in late 2009, Tracer returned overseas in September 2010 to take a coveted showcase slot at Germany’s PopKomm Music Conference in Berlin. The band then set off on a string of dates throughout Germany, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK, taking time off only to sign a long term record deal with Cool Green Recordings, a sub label of Mascot.

Upon returning to Adelaide, the band headed straight into the studio, and recorded what is to be their forthcoming album to be released in October 2011.

[Ok, maybe they're not prog, but can you go wrong if your sound even hints at Plant and Hendrix? Though... that image up theire in paragraph 2 has a mash up of "Whole Lotta Love" and "Fire" playing my head... And I found the album artwork cool, so props to the cover artist -ed.]
