Genesis - 1976 - 1982 is a beautiful limited edition vinyl box set housing 5 x heavyweight vinyl replicating original album artwork. Includes A Trick Of The Tail, Wind & Wuthering, And Then There Were Three, Duke & Abacab.

Here's a bit more info than the official announcement (which was about the now-moot pre-orders) contained, sourced from CDUniverse (with some editing and syntax corrections by moi -- and some of the details I think refer more to the 2007 CD box set versus this vinyl box...): "The Genesis 1976-1982 album [...] was released Nov 13, 2012 on the EMI Latin label [Nov 5 in the UK, from what I can determine]. When Peter Gabriel left Genesis in the mid 1970s to pursue a solo career, drummer Phil Collins was moved to vocals and the band continued to release influential albums of smart, complex, progressive rock. [...] This deluxe 12-disc box set focuses on the band's albums from this period and up through the early '80s (when they began to produce more pop-oriented material), making it a definitive portrait of the band at one of its many creative peaks.

"[...] But while the original music is crucial, it's only one of several draws of 1976-1982. Each album features crisply remastered sound, allowing the sophistication of the arrangements and the quality of the musicianship to truly pop. Moreover, each album is paired with a DVD featuring a 5.1 audio mix and extra video material, including interviews, promo videos, and live footage. Additionally, there is a bonus disc of singles, rarities, and B-sides, as well as a lavish, 48-page, photo-packed book. This beautifully assembled box is a must for Genesis fans, and a great way for casual fan to delve into one of the band's most fruitful periods.

"In 1977, after the Wind & Wuthering album, guitarist Steve Hackett left, feeling that he was not getting his fair share of music recorded. The others understood but that wasn't the way Genesis operated. Phil Collins came out from behind the drum kit to be the new singer. The critics wrote them off and mourned the passing of an era. 'People look back on that first era with a rosy glow and there was a lot of great music but we weren't selling many records,' says Tony Banks. 'Our next album, A Trick Of The Tail, doubled our sales. Once we were down to a three piece with Phil as a fully participating songwriter, we started writing everything in the studio,' says Tony. 'And the songs tended to be more spontaneous. It seemed to bring out the best in us, individually and collectively.'

"Duke was Genesis' first Number One album in the UK, reaching Number 11 in America and giving them their first Top 20 single there with 'Misunderstanding,' a songwriting debut for Phil Collins that led to his famous parallel solo career. 'Abacab' was for me a real pleasure to do,' says Mike Rutherford. 'It was always an adventure we faced without any preconceived ideas. It was, "Here we go, hope it works and let's see which way it takes us." And Phil's voice had developed. He'd gone from being a drummer who sang to being a great singer.'"

The other reissue from the land of Genesis is Seconds Out - 35th Anniversary Vinyl Edition. Their live double album originally was released in October 1977. The songs were recorded in Paris in 1976 and 1977 on their tours in support of A Trick Of The Tail and Wind & Wuthering.
