CD/DVD Releases: Guy Manning Update On New Album
And with a Tangent tangent, Guy Manning posted the following update about the forthcoming album Songs From The Bilston House at his newsgroup: "The basic track recording has been completed and we are now entering the pre-production stage.
"Andy Tillison is producing the album this time and so he is now getting all the basic levels and mixes into a stage where we can go through each one and make the final push to the top! The artwork has also been started with some initial prototypes for the pages being reviewed. My daughter Rosie is in charge of the artwork and her ideas so far have been excellent. The track order is yet to be sorted.
"Hopefully the album will be coming out on schedule in the Autumn.
"About the album: As has already been documented, the basic skeletal concept is about rooms in a house where stories have taken place or are set. Looking through the material, the narrative basis of many of the pieces are quite autobiographical this time ... just turned out that way by chance. Must have been the right time!
"I have previously recorded some very personal pieces which are scattered throughout the 8 previous albums... 'The Candyman,' 'Owning Up,' 'Stronger,' 'The Rut' & 'Time Of Our Lives' spring to mind.
"Some others have been based around peoples experiences that have been related to me: 'Night Voices,' 'Catholic Education,' 'No Hiding Place' for example. and still more are just flights of fancy!
Anyhow that's the state of the nation - I will keep you informed.
