Festival News: Echolyn Confirmed to Appear at 5th Annual CalProg Festival

CalProg is pleased to announce Echolyn as the first artist confirmed to appear at CalProg 2008 on October 11 in Whittier, California. The Pennsylvania based quintet has not appeared in California since ProgFest '94, and it is our distinct pleasure to welcome them back this year. We have been talking to Brett Kull (one of the founding members) for the last few years about getting them out here but were never able to make our schedules align. But with CalProg's move from the festival-congested spring/summer timeframe to the fall this year, we were finally able to make it all come together.

Echolyn's first album was released in 1991 and since then they have had 9 studio releases, 2 "Official Live Bootleg" CDs, and a powerful DVD (released in 2004). They have embodied the term Progressive in their music, showing a willingness to experiment both musically and lyrically in a sound that is distinctively unique and yet recognizably their own. We know that the CalProg audience will embrace this veteran band that has been so prominent to the progressive rock movement. In a time that progressive music seems to be dominated by bands from overseas, we are especially proud to be able to present a true American original. ECHOLYN!

Tickets for CalProg are tentatively scheduled to go on sale July 4, 2008. For more information about CalProg and to hear an audio sample of Echolyn's music, visit the official CalProg website at www.calprog.com.
