Legendary Mandalaband has been revived again and has just released a new album: Mandalaband III is the third reincarnation of an extraordinary progressive rock band with a long history. In fact, it has been thirty years since their last album (this must be a world record!) The new album BC ? Ancestors is a masterpiece of symphonic rock, with majestic themes and mysterious soundscapes in the old Mandalaband style, but now enhanced by 21st-century sampling technology to create huge, complex, multi-layered sounds to envelop the senses.

Twelve of Europe's finest musicians have come together to produce the most adventurous Prog Rock concept album of 2009. Two years in the making, BC ? Ancestors is a must-have for all rock music aficionados.

The album features amongst others Troy Donockley (ex-Iona, Nigthwish, Mostly Autumn), Ashley Mulford (Mandalaband I, Sad Cafe), Woolly Wolstenholme (Mandalaband II, BJH & Maestoso), Kim Turner (Mandalaband II & Maestoso) and Marc Atkinson (Gabriel, Riversea). David Rohl doesn't seem to want to wait another 30 years for the follow-up album, and the follow-up, AD - Sangreal is planned for release next year. The band is currently looking to play some live gigs. Below is some footage of their rehearsals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkQlvD1lgF0
